Community Directory Development for Burlington Teams

A professional community directory needs useful profiles that members can maintain and visitors can discover. It also needs clear decisions about which fields are public, how changes are reviewed and what happens when a profile needs correction. We help Burlington community teams build those connected member and administration workflows.

Our This is HCD project, recorded in Ireland, combines a designer directory with a podcast archive, learning journeys and member features. The delivered admin area moderates community posts and directory profiles. Curiosive uses AI to accelerate engineering under human review and works as a long-term product partner as the community and its operating needs develop.

Choose the fields that make a profile useful

Start with the community's reason for helping people find one another. Define the public information needed to support that task and the fields a member can maintain. Decide how categories, interests or locations are represented consistently. Keep profile ownership connected to the intended account and explain which information appears publicly. Review representative profiles, including incomplete ones, before expanding the field list or introducing more ways to browse.

Relevant work: This is HCD's designer community

The published case describes a Next.js platform combining a transcribed podcast archive, free courses, learning journeys and a global designer directory. Members can bookmark, comment, follow others and track course progress. An admin area moderates community posts and directory profiles. Sanity holds curated editorial content, while Supabase holds accounts, progress, comments and directory profiles. The Ireland-recorded project provides delivery evidence for connected editorial and member software; your Burlington directory's fields and review rules are defined separately.

Make profile changes and review states deliberate

Agree whether a member's changes become public immediately or wait for a defined review. Decide which actions a reviewer can take and how the member understands what needs correction. A rejected edit, a removed profile and a temporarily hidden record should have distinct product behavior where the policy requires it. Keep administrative access explicit. Review a profile update from both the member and staff perspectives so the directory reflects the approved state rather than an accidental intermediate one.

Connect discovery to maintained profile destinations

Define how a visitor browses the directory and reaches a profile. Give filters and empty results useful behavior, including a way to broaden a search. Decide how changed or removed records affect their public destinations and any related member links. Keep curated editorial information separate from profile data members own. AI accelerates familiar components and implementation options; engineers review access, record relationships and release behavior. Your community team owns publication policy and review decisions.

Review a member profile from submission to public discovery

For a new engagement, bring representative profiles, public fields and the approved review rules. Proposed acceptance examples: a member edits only their intended profile; submitted changes follow the agreed visibility rule; an authorized reviewer can apply the approved action; and a published profile appears in the expected directory destination. Review corrections, removed profiles and an empty search result separately. These are proposed checks for your community directory, not additional claims about This is HCD's historical moderation tests or member outcomes.

A product partner for the community's next stage

Member questions and review work reveal confusing fields, missing states and administrative tasks that need better tools. We collaborate with your team on a shared backlog and reviewed releases so those observations improve the directory. Monthly AI-accelerated development starts from $2,000, with capacity, moderation ownership and operating responsibilities agreed in writing. Curiosive LLC collaborates remotely with Burlington teams through agreed Eastern-time review windows, with engineering led from Ankara. The partnership continues around the community product people use and maintain after launch.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

Can you build a community directory for a Burlington organization?

Yes. Bring representative profiles, the intended discovery task and publication rules. We can scope member editing, public browsing and moderation together.

What does This is HCD demonstrate?

The Ireland-recorded case covers a community learning platform with a designer directory, member features and administration for community posts and profile moderation.

Can members update their own profiles?

That can be an agreed requirement. Define profile ownership, editable fields and how changes become public before implementation, including the review and correction workflow.

Can you stay involved as the community grows?

Yes. A continuing engagement can prioritize discovery, profile workflows and administration through a shared backlog, agreed monthly capacity and reviewed releases.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.

A short note about the product, the timeline and who it is for is enough to start. You will hear back from the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team.
