13 planning tasks. Completion is recorded by you, not verified by this tool.

Selected scope and open decisions

  • Hostname: Unknown
  • URL paths changing? unknown
  • CMS or platform changing? unknown
  • HTTP to HTTPS move? unknown
  • Multiple languages or regional versions? unknown
  • Images, downloads or other asset URLs changing? unknown
  • Pages being merged or removed? unknown

Change of Address applicability is unknown until the hostname change is confirmed. HTTPS or path changes alone do not require it.

Choose the changes you actually plan

Specify domain/subdomain or www-only changes, paths, CMS, HTTPS, language versions, assets and content consolidation. Leave decisions unknown when they have not been confirmed. Unknowns generate pre-launch confirmation tasks instead of guessed recommendations. This is a planning aid, not a crawl, risk score or SEO certification.

Keep ownership and evidence visible

The generated checklist groups tasks into pre-launch, launch and post-launch. Assign an owner, mark a status and record evidence for each task. Done means that you marked it done; the tool does not verify it. Use notes or references rather than passwords, credentials or sensitive records. Changing the migration scope clears previous task answers so a different plan cannot inherit stale completion claims.

When Change of Address applies

Google's Change of Address tool applies to moves between domains or subdomains, subject to Search Console prerequisites and working redirects. It is not required for an HTTP-to-HTTPS-only move, a www/non-www-only switch, or URL path changes on the same domain. CMS replacement alone does not establish that a domain move is happening.

Privacy and printable output

Free, with no account, uploads or API calls. Your scope choices, owners, statuses and evidence stay in this browser tab; the tool does not send them to the server or analytics, put them in the URL, or persist them in local storage. Reset clears the plan. Print includes the selected scope, unknown decisions and user-entered task notes. Printing or saving a PDF uses your browser's print dialog.

Separate planning from launch verification

Use the checklist to prepare the release and record actual evidence. It cannot inspect redirects, DNS, TLS, page content, robots, canonical tags or Search Console properties. A complete checklist does not guarantee crawlability, indexability, traffic or ranking preservation. Migration timing and results depend on the actual website and execution.
