Model the work and each published edition deliberately
Begin with the publisher-approved work identity and the details that change between editions. Format, cover, language and publication information may belong to a particular edition rather than the overall work. Decide how a visitor finds the current options and how earlier editions remain understandable. Keep similar titles distinct in the editor. The press owns the book descriptions, identifiers and publication facts used throughout the catalogue.
