Mobile App Development for Teams in San Marino

StatCounter puts Android at 65.77% and iOS at 34.23% of the mobile operating system market in San Marino for September 2026, so an iOS-only launch would leave out the larger platform. The harder problems sit behind the screens. The Republic has its own data protection law, an age of digital consent of 16 that its Data Protection Authority has already enforced against TikTok, and consent rules for anything an app stores on or reads from the device.

Curiosive is a studio in Ankara, Türkiye, that builds iOS and Android apps in React Native with AI coding agents under senior engineer review. Agents produce the volume of screens and tests; engineers read every diff and own the parts that can hurt users, such as tokens, permissions, payments and personal data. We work remotely and have no office in San Marino. Ankara runs one hour ahead of you in summer and two in winter, so most of our working day falls inside yours.

One React Native codebase for Android and iOS users in San Marino

With Android well ahead of iOS in StatCounter's September 2026 figures for the Republic, shipping to both stores from the first release is the sensible default rather than a later phase. React Native builds both apps from one TypeScript codebase, so the smaller iOS share does not need a native project of its own. Italian is the official language, so copy, store listings, date formats and error messages should be written in Italian first. Prices display in euros, the Republic's official currency. Because Android leads, test devices and release checks should cover a range of Android phones, not only a recent iPhone. We set up translation files and number formatting in the first slice, because retrofitting locale handling into finished screens touches nearly every component.

San Marino's data protection law is Law No. 171 of 21 December 2018, enforced by the Autorità Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali. Under Article 3(2) it also covers controllers and processors not established in the Republic that offer goods or services to people there or monitor their behaviour. Article 7 sets the age of digital consent at 16: where an information society service offered directly to a child relies on consent, a user under 16 needs consent given or authorised by the holder of parental responsibility, and the controller must make every reasonable effort to verify it. On 4 July 2024 the Garante ordered TikTok Pte Ltd to pay a EUR 3,500,000 fine (Measure No. 08/2024) for failing to verify ages and parental consent, citing 4,886 potentially affected children under 16 in a population of 33,932. Article 72(2) allows fines of up to EUR 10 million or, for businesses, 4% of prior-year total annual turnover if higher, for breaches that include consent conditions.

Article 111 of Law 171/2018 allows storing or reading information on a user's device only with consent given after the information required by Articles 13 and 14, except where it is strictly needed to transmit a communication or to provide a service the user explicitly requested. Before the first build we sort every SDK and stored value into those two groups: what the requested service cannot run without, and what waits for a consent choice, which is where analytics, attribution and advertising SDKs go. Article 119 requires consent for marketing by automated calls, email, SMS, MMS or similar messages, which shapes the sign-up screen. The stores ask for matching declarations. Apple requires approved reasons in the privacy manifest for each required-reason API the code uses, and every Google Play app needs a Data safety form that stays accurate, covering data collected through third-party libraries or SDKs. Engineers write both from the real dependency list.

What AI agents build in a San Marino app and what engineers own

Coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor take scoped tasks with acceptance criteria: screens, navigation, list rendering, form validation, the Italian string files, tests and first drafts of store metadata. Before proposing a change an agent runs the type checker, linter and tests; a senior engineer then reads the diff, and no agent merges its own work. The San Marino specifics stay with engineers: the under-16 consent flow and how parental authorisation is verified, the Article 111 gate that decides which SDKs start, and the marketing opt-in. So do token storage in the iOS Keychain and Android Keystore, auth refresh, server-side entitlement checks, offline behaviour and in-app account deletion, which Apple and Google Play both require when users can create accounts. TrendinChat (trendin.chat) and Coffict (coffict.com) are React Native apps we have shipped for clients in Türkiye.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

Should a San Marino app launch on Android or iOS first?

Both at once is usually the right call. StatCounter put Android at 65.77% and iOS at 34.23% of the mobile operating system market in San Marino in September 2026. React Native builds both apps from one TypeScript codebase, so reaching iOS users as well does not mean funding a second native project.

Does San Marino's privacy law apply to an app made by a foreign company?

Yes, when the app offers goods or services to people in San Marino or monitors their behaviour. Article 3(2) of Law 171/2018 extends the law to controllers and processors not established there. Plan consent, notices and data subject rights for those users, and confirm the specifics with a lawyer if the app handles sensitive data.

Below what age does an app in San Marino need parental consent?

Below 16, where the app is offered directly to children and relies on consent. Article 7 of Law 171/2018 requires consent given or authorised by the holder of parental responsibility, plus every reasonable effort to verify it. The Garante's EUR 3,500,000 fine against TikTok in 2024 was for failing to verify ages and parental consent, so the age check needs real design work.

How much does mobile app development for San Marino cost with Curiosive?

Curiosive has one offer: AI-accelerated development from $2,000 per month. Scope and capacity are written down and agreed after a discovery call, and you are not tied to a long contract. Repository, database and hosting accounts sit in your name or on accounts you already hold, so the app's code belongs to you from the first commit.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.
