Mobile App Development for Andorra, Where iOS Leads

StatCounter puts iOS at 62.68% and Android at 37.32% of mobile operating system web traffic in Andorra for September 2026. That lead tempts teams to build for iPhone first and add Android later, which means two codebases. The harder work sits under the screens: a team in Andorra shipping an app has to plan for the country's own data protection law, its rules on device storage and its 2025 accessibility law.

Curiosive is a studio in Ankara, Türkiye, that builds apps with AI coding agents under senior engineer review. We use React Native, so one TypeScript codebase ships to the App Store and Google Play. Agents do the volume: screens, navigation, forms and tests. Engineers own the parts that can hurt users, from token storage to consent flows, account deletion and the privacy declarations each store checks at review.

One React Native app for Andorra's iOS-led market, in Catalan

With iOS ahead but Android still above a third of that traffic, dropping either platform leaves a large share of users out. React Native lets one codebase serve both, which keeps consent logic, age checks and analytics rules in one place. Catalan is Andorra's only official language, so interface strings sit outside the components from the first screen, and a Catalan version of each screen and store listing can be added without touching layouts. Since 31 August 2026, new apps and app updates on Google Play must target Android 16 (API level 36) or higher. Apple's age ratings now add 13+, 16+ and 18+ to 4+ and 9+, and developers had to answer the new required questions for each app by 31 January 2026 to keep submitting updates. Agents draft store metadata; an engineer checks build targets and rating answers before review.

The age rule to design for comes from Andorra's own data protection law, Llei 29/2021 (the LQPD). Its Article 8 makes processing a minor's personal data lawful only from age 16, especially in information society services offered directly. Below 16, the legal representative must give or authorise consent, and the controller must verify it, taking available technology into account. Article 73 sets fines from EUR 500 for minor infringements up to EUR 100,000 for very serious ones. Apple's 16+ tier is a store label, not that verification. If your app could attract younger users, plan an age step at sign-up, a parental consent flow with a stored record of who authorised what, and analytics that stay off until consent exists. Engineers design these flows; agents write the form screens and the tests for each branch.

Llei 20/2014, the law on electronic contracting and operators active in a digital space, is not limited to browser cookies. Its Article 20 covers cookies and other data storage and retrieval devices, requires clear, complete and visible information so users can consent first, and requires an easy, simple and free way to withdraw consent at any time. Storage that is purely technical, for security, or needed for the service the user asked for is exempt. Using such devices without the information or consent is a serious infringement, fined EUR 2,000 to 10,000 under Articles 41 and 42. In an app, that means starting analytics and attribution SDKs only after consent, with a settings switch to withdraw it. The same SDK inventory feeds the store declarations: Google Play's Data safety form must cover data collected through third-party SDKs and stay accurate, and Apple requires a privacy manifest with approved reasons for each required-reason API the code uses.

Accessibility rules for apps under Andorra's Llei 24/2025

Llei 24/2025 d'accessibilitat universal covers private entities as well as public ones. They must make their communication systems accessible, including telephone and digital customer service, and Article 26 requires digital interfaces to be usable and understandable for people with cognitive or intellectual disabilities. Fines range from EUR 300 to EUR 50,000, imposed by the minister responsible for social affairs. The law does not cite WCAG or the European Accessibility Act: it gives the Govern one year to set accessibility conditions by regulation, and the 1995 accessibility regulation applies until then. For an app, that points to plain wording, predictable navigation, labelled controls and an in-app support route. Agents add accessibility labels across every screen, with tests that check they are present; an engineer walks the main flows by hand before each release.

What agents build and what engineers keep on a mobile app

Coding agents scaffold screens, navigation, list rendering, form validation, tests and first drafts of store metadata. Engineers keep what can hurt users: tokens in the Keychain on iOS and the Keystore on Android, auth refresh, server-side entitlement checks, offline and reconnection behaviour, and permission prompts. Account deletion belongs on that list. Since 30 June 2022, Apple has required apps that support account creation to let users start deletion inside the app, and temporary deactivation is not enough. Google Play asks for both an in-app path and a web link to request deletion of the account and its data. We have shipped React Native apps for clients in Türkiye, including TrendinChat (trendin.chat), real-time trending-topic chat rooms built in two weeks, and Coffict (coffict.com), a coffee ordering and loyalty app.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

What does it cost to build a React Native app for users in Andorra?

Work runs as AI-accelerated development, starting from $2,000 per month, with scope agreed in writing. Under-16 consent flows and a Catalan interface are part of that scope conversation, which ends in a written scope and budget after a discovery call.

Do apps in Andorra need parental consent for users under 16?

Yes, when the app processes a minor's personal data. Under Article 8 of the LQPD, that processing is lawful only from age 16, and below that age a legal representative must give or authorise consent. The controller must verify it, taking available technology into account, so a single tick box is a weak plan.

Can our app use Andorra's Cartera Digital for sign-in?

We cannot confirm that, so ask the Govern before planning a login around it. The Cartera Digital identity wallet launched in October 2025 and had more than 22,000 registered users and about 19,000 authentications a month by 14 July 2026. People use it, but whether private apps can request its credentials is a separate question.

Is it hard to work with an app studio in Türkiye from Andorra?

Not on time zones. Ankara is one hour ahead of Andorra in summer and two in winter, so most of the working day is shared. The rest is process: written decisions, a releasable increment every week and one short weekly call, with the code in your own repository from the first commit.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.
