Android and iOS share in Bosnia and Herzegovina: one React Native app
With about three quarters of mobile operating system usage on Android in StatCounter's September 2026 figures, an iOS-first launch would start with the smaller group. React Native removes that choice: one codebase builds for both stores, so neither platform waits for a second team. We still test on both, because they differ where it matters. Secure storage uses the Keychain on iOS and the Keystore on Android, permission prompts behave differently, and reconnection after the app has sat in the background is not the same. On the Android side, Google Play has required new apps and app updates to target Android 16 (API level 36) or higher since 31 August 2026, and existing apps must target Android 15 (API level 35) or higher to stay available to new users. We set the build configuration for that before the first submission.
