Mobile App Development for Teams in Ukraine

A business selling goods or services in Ukraine has to give its mobile app a Ukrainian-language user interface version. That rule sits in Article 27 of the state language law, and it moves localisation into the first sprint: Ukrainian strings belong in the first build, across screens, error messages, empty states and notifications. Add an audience where Android holds most of the mobile share, and a market where 96% of transactions with Ukrainian-issued cards are cashless, and the app carries local requirements from day one.

Curiosive is an AI-native software studio in Ankara, Türkiye, where coding agents write the volume and senior engineers review it before anything merges. We build in React Native, so one TypeScript codebase reaches both the App Store and Google Play. Agents produce screens, navigation, list rendering, form validation and tests. Engineers own the parts that can hurt users: token storage, sign-in, payment state, permission prompts and the privacy declarations each store reviews.

Ukrainian interface rules for mobile apps sold in Ukraine

Article 27 of Law No. 2704-VIII 'On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language' is in force, in its current edition dated 27 June 2026. For mobile apps the rule is short: an app of a business selling goods and services in Ukraine must have a Ukrainian-language user interface version. English or another language can still ship next to it, but the Ukrainian version is not optional. The same article also sets rules for websites, so the marketing site and any web checkout need their own plan. For the app itself, that means translation keys from the first commit. This is where coding agents earn their keep: extracting hard-coded strings into translation files, flagging screens with missing keys and writing a test that fails the build when a screen ships without its Ukrainian text.

Android and iOS share in Ukraine and store rules to plan for

StatCounter puts Ukraine's mobile operating system share in September 2026 at Android 62.29% and iOS 37.68%. Neither side is small enough to skip, which is the practical case for React Native: one codebase, both stores. It also tilts the test plan towards Android, where more of your users are. Google Play sets its own gates. Since 31 August 2026, new apps and app updates must target Android 16 (API level 36) or higher, and every published app must complete the Data safety form, including apps that collect no user data. Both stores require apps that allow account creation to offer account deletion inside the app, and Google Play also wants a web link for deletion requests. Agents draft store metadata and the declaration answers from the code; an engineer checks them against what the app actually collects before submission.

Diia sign-in and document sharing in a mobile app for Ukraine

Diia, Ukraine's state app, offers businesses free integrations. Diia.Signature can sign documents or log a user in to a website or app. Document sharing and multi-sharing can autofill forms, an Antibot check authorises users without collecting their personal data, and digital documents can be validated by QR or barcode. Partners must have no ties to Russia or Belarus and must sign an agreement. In an app, these integrations sit exactly where engineers keep control: authentication, session refresh and anything carrying identity data. An agent can build the screens around a Diia login. The engineer designs how the returned identity is verified on the server, how tokens are stored (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android) and what happens when a user returns after the session has expired.

Card payments in Ukrainian apps and the server-side checks

National Bank of Ukraine figures for the first half of 2026 show that 96% of transactions with Ukrainian-issued payment cards were cashless by count. Online payments for goods and services made up 16.6% of cashless card transactions by value and 13.7% by count, and 21.1 million cards, 34.5% of active cards, were tokenised. For an app that sells something, card payment is the flow to design and test first. Agents build the cart, the order history and the form states. Engineers own the payment boundary: order status or entitlement confirmed on the server rather than trusted from the device, behaviour when the connection drops mid-payment and retries that never charge twice. Coffict (coffict.com), a React Native ordering and loyalty app for a client in Türkiye, is the kind of order-ahead flow we have shipped.

How coding agents and engineers split the work on your app

Every job handed to an agent is written up first: what done looks like, and which files and systems are off limits. A typical one before a Ukrainian release: add Ukrainian strings to the checkout screens, keep every existing test green and do not touch token storage. Claude Code or Cursor then does the work in the repository, updating tests and passing type checks, lint and the test suite before it proposes anything. Nothing merges on an agent's say-so: a senior engineer reads the diff and CI repeats the checks. Offline behaviour, reconnection, permission prompts and personal data stay with engineers. TrendinChat (trendin.chat), a real-time React Native chat app for a client in Türkiye, was built in two weeks, and on every project the repository is yours from the first commit.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

Does my app need a Ukrainian interface if it already has English?

Yes, if your business sells goods or services in Ukraine. Article 27 of Law No. 2704-VIII requires a Ukrainian-language user interface version of the mobile app, and other languages can sit alongside it. How the rule applies to your company structure is worth confirming with a lawyer, but translation support built in from the first commit costs far less than a retrofit.

Should we build for Android or iPhone first in Ukraine?

Build for both at once with React Native rather than choosing. Android held 62.29% of mobile share in Ukraine in September 2026 against 37.68% for iOS, so neither side is small enough to postpone. One TypeScript codebase serves both stores, while the device testing effort leans toward Android.

How much does it cost to build a mobile app for the Ukrainian market?

Work runs as AI-accelerated development, starting from $2,000 per month, with scope agreed in writing. A discovery call comes first, then scope and capacity go into a written agreement, with no long contract to begin. A Ukrainian interface, Diia sign-in and card checkout go into that first scope discussion, because each is cheaper to plan for than to bolt on after launch.

Can a studio in Türkiye keep up with a Ukrainian working day?

Yes, almost the whole working day is shared. Ankara is one hour ahead of Ukraine in winter and on the same clock in summer, which leaves 8 or 9 shared hours in a 09:00 to 18:00 day. The studio works on Türkiye business hours, with written async decisions and a releasable build every week.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.

Looking for an engineering partner for the long haul?

A short note about the product, the timeline and who it is for is enough to start. You will hear back from the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team.
