Software Development for California Teams, Engineered in Ankara

Ankara is 11 hours ahead of California in winter and 10 hours ahead in summer, so a standard 09:00 to 18:00 day in each place shares zero hours. The other early question is legal: if your company is subject to the CCPA, the contract with an outside studio whose engineers work on systems holding Californians' personal data has to meet its service provider rules.

Curiosive is a studio in Ankara, Türkiye, that builds software with AI coding agents under senior engineer review, either a product end to end or as an embedded monthly engagement. US clients can contract with Curiosive LLC, a US company registered in New Mexico, and pay in US dollars. Repository, database and hosting accounts are opened in your name, so the code is yours from the first commit.

Curiosive LLC is our US-registered company. Engineering is led from Ankara, Türkiye, with collaboration across European and US time zones. Your engagement starts with a written scope, monthly capacity and a clear delivery plan.

Know who you hire

Curiosive LLC provides the services. Our US company details and service terms are published, and pricing is in USD.

Know what will ship

Agree scope, capacity and start date before checkout. Work through a prioritized queue, with senior engineers reviewing changes before they reach production.

Keep ownership

Typed, tested and documented code, with no lock-in to our tooling. Define repository access, handover and the working-hour overlap during discovery.

Working hours between California and Ankara, in exact numbers

In winter California runs on PST (UTC-8) and Ankara on UTC+3 all year, an 11-hour gap. Our day starts at 09:00 in Ankara, which is 22:00 the previous evening for you, and ends at 18:00, which is 07:00 for you. In summer, on PDT (UTC-7), the gap is 10 hours and our day runs from 23:00 to 08:00 your time. When your day starts at 09:00 it is already 20:00 in Ankara in winter and 19:00 in summer. You write decisions and questions into the tracker before you finish, our working day happens during your night, and a written handoff covering what shipped and what is blocked is waiting when your day starts. The short weekly call sits at the edge of both days: 18:00 in Ankara, which is 07:00 PST or 08:00 PDT.

CCPA service provider contracts for California software projects

The CCPA applies to a for-profit business doing business in California that meets one of three thresholds: gross annual revenue of $26.625 million or more for the preceding calendar year (the CPI-adjusted figure effective January 1, 2025), buying, selling or sharing the personal information of 100,000 or more California residents or households, or deriving 50% or more of annual revenue from selling or sharing that information. If your company is covered, CCPA regulation §7051 sets out what the written contract with a service provider or contractor, such as a development studio, must say. It has to prohibit selling or sharing the personal information, name the specific business purposes of the processing rather than referring to the whole contract, and prohibit retaining, using or disclosing the data for any other purpose or combining it with data from other sources unless the law permits it. Those terms belong in the written agreement with Curiosive LLC before an engineer touches production data.

Breach notice and audit deadlines for companies in California

Since January 1, 2026 (SB 446), Civil Code §1798.82 requires a business to notify affected California residents within 30 calendar days of discovering or being notified of a breach, with delay allowed only for law enforcement needs or to determine its scope and restore system integrity. When more than 500 residents must be notified, a sample copy of the notice goes to the Attorney General within 15 calendar days of notifying them. Thirty days is short if nobody can say which records a leaked key could reach. Under CalPrivacy's regulations, a business that meets the audit criteria must finish its first cybersecurity audit report by April 1, 2028 with 2026 revenue over $100 million, April 1, 2029 with 2027 revenue of $50 million to $100 million, or April 1, 2030 with 2028 revenue under $50 million. Both point to the same engineering work: access logs, least-privilege roles, secrets kept out of the repository and an incident runbook written before it is needed.

AI features for California users: ADMT and companion chatbot rules

Under CalPrivacy's CCPA regulations, a business already using automated decisionmaking technology for a significant decision must comply with the ADMT rules by January 1, 2027. Risk assessments for ongoing high-risk processing, such as selling or sharing personal information or processing sensitive personal information, must be completed by December 31, 2027, and those conducted in 2026 and 2027 submitted to the Agency by April 1, 2028. The state's companion chatbot law requires operators to give a clear and conspicuous notice that the chatbot is artificially generated and not human wherever a reasonable person could be misled, and to maintain and publish a protocol for suicide and self-harm content that refers users to crisis service providers. Under SB 1119, a documented child-safety risk assessment is due from July 1, 2027 before a new or substantially modified companion chatbot is made available.

How agentic software engineering works on a monthly engagement

An engineer writes each task with acceptance criteria and the boundaries the agent must not cross. A coding agent, Claude Code or Cursor, reads the existing code, plans, implements, updates tests and runs the type checker, linter and test suite before proposing a change. A senior engineer reviews every diff, continuous integration re-runs the checks, and agents never merge their own work. Data models, authentication, authorization, payment paths and anything touching personal data stay with engineers. The review gate matters more when agents write the volume, because the cost of a missed mistake does not shrink with the cost of typing. Work for US clients shown on our site includes the Zing Coach (zing.coach) rebuild from Webflow to Next.js and the revival of RateItAll (rateitall.com), a legacy ratings platform with 12M+ reviews.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

Can a California company sign with a US entity rather than a company in Türkiye?

Yes. Curiosive LLC is a US company registered in New Mexico, so you can contract with a US entity and pay in US dollars. The engineering itself happens remotely from Ankara, Türkiye. There is no office in California, and the New Mexico registration is a legal entity, not an office.

Does the CCPA apply to an early-stage startup in California?

Only if it meets one of three thresholds: $26.625 million or more in gross annual revenue for the preceding calendar year, buying, selling or sharing personal information of 100,000 or more California residents or households, or 50% or more of annual revenue from selling or sharing it. It is worth confirming your position with a lawyer.

What hours do your engineers in Ankara work in PST and PDT?

Our 09:00 to 18:00 day in Ankara is 22:00 to 07:00 PST in winter and 23:00 to 08:00 PDT in summer. There is no shared working hour, so the work runs on written handoffs and one short weekly call at 18:00 Ankara time, early morning for you.

How much does a monthly software engineering engagement cost?

Engagements start from $2,000 per month for AI-accelerated development, and scope and budget are agreed in writing after a discovery call. There is no long contract to begin and no lock-in, and you get a releasable increment every week.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.

Looking for an engineering partner for the long haul?

A short note about the product, the timeline and who it is for is enough to start. You will hear back from the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team.
