Inspire Film: a virtual cinema for transformational documentaries
A React and Supabase streaming platform with adaptive video, live screening rooms and recommended guided experiences that continue the work after each film ends.

The product problem
Inspire Film streams a curated catalogue of documentaries featuring leading experts in personal growth. Watching is only the start: the product needs to help a viewer act on what they saw. That means connecting each film to guided exercises, courses and live events, and recommending a sensible next step. A standard video library would stop at playback and leave the rest of the experience outside the product.
The delivered scope
The platform is a React and TypeScript application on Supabase and PostgreSQL. Films and course videos stream through Bunny Stream with adaptive playback and captions. After a film, a short questionnaire about the viewer's challenge and goal drives recommendations of guided audio, video or text experiences. A virtual cinema runs live screenings and events on LiveKit, alongside memberships, Stripe checkout and an admin area.
One experience player for solo and live use
Guided experiences can be taken alone or run by a host for a whole room in the virtual cinema. Rather than build a second player, the host-led mode adds one fact to the existing model: the host decides which step the room is on. Each member still answers in their own session. For a similar build, extending one well-tested flow is usually safer than maintaining two parallel versions of it.
