Mobile App Development for Teams in Slovakia

StatCounter's September 2026 figures put Slovakia's mobile operating system share at 75.38% Android and 24.62% iOS. An app for this market that treats Android as the afterthought is built for the wrong majority, yet the iPhone quarter is too large to drop. The harder work sits underneath the screens: consumer information in Slovak, consent for users under 16, device storage rules that reach analytics SDKs, and accessibility duties that have covered several kinds of consumer service since 28 June 2025.

We are a studio in Ankara, Türkiye, and we build with AI coding agents while senior engineers review every change. For mobile work that means React Native with Expo, so one TypeScript codebase reaches both the App Store and Google Play. Agents scaffold screens, navigation, lists, form validation, tests and store metadata drafts. Engineers own token storage in the iOS Keychain and Android Keystore, auth refresh, entitlement checks, offline and reconnection behaviour, permission prompts and the privacy declarations that store review reads.

One React Native codebase for Android and iOS users in Slovakia

With roughly three quarters of Slovakia's mobile operating system share on Android in StatCounter's September 2026 count, the Android build gets the same attention as iOS from the first slice. Since 31 August 2026, new apps and updates submitted to Google Play must target Android 16 (API level 36), and every Play listing needs a Data safety form that stays accurate about what third-party SDKs collect. On iOS, the privacy manifest must declare an approved reason for each required-reason API the code uses. Agents draft these declarations from the dependency list; an engineer checks them against what the code actually does before submission. TrendinChat (trendin.chat), a React Native app for a client in Türkiye, was built in two weeks.

Slovak language and consumer information inside the app

Slovak is the official EU language of Slovakia, and consumer law asks for it by default. Under § 4(1)(g) of Consumer Protection Act No. 108/2024 Coll., in force since 1 July 2024, traders must give consumers all information and documents in Slovak, or in another language the consumer understands if the consumer agrees. Other languages may still sit alongside Slovak. For an app sold to consumers, it is safest to plan pricing screens, subscription terms, order confirmations and the account deletion flow in Slovak, not only the store listing. We set the app up with translation keys from the first screen, so Slovak is a full locale from day one. Agents extract hard-coded strings and keep the locale files in sync as screens change. A native Slovak speaker on your side should sign off the final wording.

Section 15 of Act No. 18/2018 Coll. sets 16 as the age from which a user's own consent makes processing lawful for information society services; below that, a legal representative must give or authorise consent, and the controller must make reasonable efforts to verify it. Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on Electronic Communications allows storing information on, or reading it from, a user's device only with demonstrable consent, with narrow exceptions such as storage strictly necessary for a service the user explicitly requested. The Úrad pre reguláciu elektronických komunikácií a poštových služieb can fine breaches from 200 EUR up to 5% of the previous accounting period's turnover. In the build, analytics and attribution SDKs stay off until the user agrees, and age gating is designed before the sign-up screen exists. Engineers own the consent state and where it is stored; agents write the tests that prove no SDK initialises early.

Accessibility duties for apps serving consumers in Slovakia

Act No. 351/2022 Coll., Slovakia's transposition of the European Accessibility Act, has applied since 28 June 2025, so the first step is checking whether your service is in scope. Its consumer services include e-books and specialised software, financial services, information society services, and the websites, mobile apps, e-tickets and travel information of air, bus, rail and waterborne passenger transport, with urban, suburban and regional transport excluded. Services provided by microenterprises are exempt. The Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia supervises services and can fine from 200 EUR up to 3% of the previous accounting period's turnover, capped at 6,000, 20,000 or 30,000 EUR depending on the breach. Where the act applies, a React Native build should label every control, let text scale without breaking layouts, keep contrast readable and give screen readers a sensible order. Agents add accessibility properties as they build screens; VoiceOver and TalkBack checks come before release.

In-app payments and Apple's EU terms for apps sold in Slovakia

The euro has been Slovakia's currency since 1 January 2009, so prices, receipts and refunds for the home market need no conversion. On iOS, Apple says its EU terms effective 1 October 2026 let apps offer alternative payment processing alongside In-App Purchase, at a 20% commission, or 10% for program participants and for subscriptions after their first year. With iOS at 24.62% of Slovakia's mobile operating system share, those terms govern the smaller platform, so the Google Play purchase path deserves the same testing. Whatever the route, entitlements are checked on the server and never trusted from the device. Engineers write the receipt and entitlement logic; agents build the paywall screens, the restore purchases flow and the tests for expired, refunded and upgraded states.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

What does a mobile app for users in Slovakia cost to build?

Pricing is monthly, and $2,000 a month in US dollars is the floor for our AI-accelerated development offer, not a fixed price. After a discovery call we put the scope in writing, with Slovak localisation, consent handling and any accessibility work visible in it before anything is built.

Does our app need to be in Slovak if we sell to consumers in Slovakia?

By default, yes, for consumer information and documents. Consumer Protection Act No. 108/2024 Coll. requires traders to give consumers all information and documents in Slovak, or in another language the consumer understands if the consumer agrees. English may sit alongside Slovak, so a bilingual app works as long as the Slovak version is complete.

Can a 14 year old in Slovakia sign up to an app on their own consent?

No, not where the processing relies on consent. Under Section 15 of Act No. 18/2018 Coll., a user's own consent counts only from 16. Below that, a legal representative must give or authorise consent, and the app owner must make reasonable efforts to verify it.

Can a team in Slovakia work with an app studio in Ankara without time zone trouble?

Yes, the overlap is large. Slovak clocks sit one hour behind Ankara in summer and two behind in winter, so 8 or 7 hours of a normal working day are common to both. Decisions are kept in writing, each week ends with a releasable increment and a brief weekly call falls inside that common window.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.

A short note about the product, the timeline and who it is for is enough to start. You will hear back from the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team.
