Software Development for Companies in Alaska

When the working day starts in Ankara at 09:00, it is 21:00 the previous evening in Alaska in winter and 22:00 in summer. In a standard 09:00 to 18:00 day the two places share no hours at all, in either season. For a team buying engineering capacity from abroad, that gap decides the whole working model, so it is worth understanding before anything else, including price.

Curiosive is a software studio in Ankara, Türkiye. We build products end to end or join a team as embedded monthly capacity, with AI coding agents doing the volume and a senior engineer reviewing every change. US companies can contract with Curiosive LLC, a US company registered in New Mexico, and pay in US dollars. The code is yours from the first commit, with repository and hosting accounts opened in your name.

For US founders and product teams

A US company. An engineering partner you can keep.

Curiosive LLC is our US-registered company. Engineering is led from Ankara, Türkiye, with collaboration across European and US time zones. Your engagement starts with a written scope, monthly capacity and a clear delivery plan.

Know who you hire

Curiosive LLC provides the services. Our US company details and service terms are published, and pricing is in USD.

Know what will ship

Agree scope, capacity and start date before checkout. Work through a prioritized queue, with senior engineers reviewing changes before they reach production.

Keep ownership

Typed, tested and documented code, with no lock-in to our tooling. Define repository access, handover and the working-hour overlap during discovery.

Ankara and Alaska time zones: the exact working hours

Ankara is on UTC+3 all year because Türkiye does not use daylight saving time. Alaska time is UTC-9 in winter (AKST) and UTC-8 in summer (AKDT), so Ankara is 12 hours ahead in winter and 11 in summer. In winter our 09:00 to 18:00 day runs from 21:00 to 06:00 your time; in summer it runs from 22:00 to 07:00. Your 09:00 start is 21:00 in Ankara in winter and 20:00 in summer, after our day has ended. The western Aleutian Islands use Hawaii-Aleutian time, so the numbers differ there. We do not pretend there is overlap. Work moves through written handoffs: you leave decisions at the end of your day, we build during your night, and you read a written summary in the morning. One short weekly call sits at the close of our day, 18:00 in Ankara, which is 06:00 your time in winter and 07:00 in summer. That is early for you, and we say so plainly.

Alaska privacy law and engineers in Türkiye handling your data

As of 2 October 2026, Alaska has no signed comprehensive consumer privacy law. The IAPP state tracker, last updated 8 September 2026, lists only inactive bills, so duties found in other states' laws, such as controller-processor contracts, data protection assessments and universal opt-out signals, do not apply under state law. HB 367, the Consumer Data Privacy Act, would change that, but its last action was a referral to House Finance on 12 May 2026 and it is not law. There is no comprehensive federal law in force either; the SECURE Data Act (H.R. 8413) is still a pending bill. None of that makes access casual. Anything touching personal data is handled by engineers rather than agents, and we work inside accounts you own, so you decide who can reach what.

Alaska breach law duties for an outside software vendor

The state's breach statute treats a vendor that holds data it does not own as an information recipient. Under AS 45.48.070 that vendor must notify the data owner immediately after discovering a breach and cooperate so the owner can notify residents. If more than 1,000 Alaska residents must be notified, nationwide consumer reporting agencies have to be told as well (AS 45.48.040). A non-governmental violation counts as an unfair or deceptive act, with a civil penalty of up to $500 per resident not notified, capped at $50,000 (AS 45.48.080). For an outsourced build, the practical work is deciding before launch who detects a breach, who tells whom and how fast, then writing it into the engagement. It is worth confirming the specifics with a lawyer.

Building for Alaska's government and health care employers

Government is the state's largest employment sector: of 337,400 nonfarm jobs in 2025 it accounted for 79,200, split into 40,200 local, 24,100 state and 14,900 federal. Health care had 43,000, while the information sector had only 4,100. If you build software that a state or local government runs, the DOJ's ADA Title II rule applies: websites and mobile apps, including those a private company runs for a public entity, must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Compliance is due 26 April 2027 for public entities with a population of 50,000 or more, and 26 April 2028 for smaller entities and special district governments. The WCAG level goes into each task's acceptance criteria, so agents build to it and reviewers check it.

What agentic software engineering changes about cost

Each task starts with an engineer writing scope, acceptance criteria and the boundaries the agent must not cross. Claude Code or Cursor then reads the existing code, plans, implements, writes tests and runs the type checker, linter and test suite before proposing a change. A senior engineer reviews every diff, agents never merge their own work, and continuous integration re-runs the checks. That lowers the cost of scaffolding, migrations and wide refactors. It does not lower the cost of deciding data models, auth, permissions or payment paths, which stay with people. For US clients we did the full Webflow to Next.js rebuild of Zing Coach (zing.coach) and revived RateItAll (rateitall.com), a ratings platform with more than 12 million reviews. Work runs as AI-accelerated development, starting from $2,000 per month, with scope agreed in writing.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

Is there any working-hours overlap between Alaska and a team in Türkiye?

No. Ankara is 12 hours ahead of Alaska in winter and 11 in summer, so a standard 09:00 to 18:00 day shares zero hours in both seasons. We work through written handoffs while you sleep, plus one short weekly call at 18:00 Ankara time, which is 06:00 in Alaska in winter and 07:00 in summer.

Can an Alaska company outsource software development to a US-registered company?

Yes. You can contract with Curiosive LLC, a US company registered in New Mexico, and pay in US dollars. The engineering itself is done remotely from Ankara, Türkiye. Scope and budget are agreed in writing after a discovery call, and there is no long contract to begin.

Do we need a data processing agreement under Alaska privacy law?

Not under a state comprehensive privacy law, because Alaska had none as of 2 October 2026 and HB 367 was last referred to House Finance. The breach statute still applies, including the duty for a vendor holding your data to notify you immediately after discovering a breach, so data handling belongs in the written engagement anyway.

Who owns the code when an outside studio builds our software?

You do, from the first commit. Repository, database and hosting accounts are opened in your name or connected to accounts you already hold, and the code is typed, tested and documented so another team can take it over. There is no lock-in to our tooling.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.

Looking for an engineering partner for the long haul?

A short note about the product, the timeline and who it is for is enough to start. You will hear back from the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team.
