Software Development for Irish Content and Community Platforms

Updated

A podcast, learning archive or community can outgrow a publishing website when it adds accounts, progress tracking and moderation. Curiosive works remotely from Ankara, Türkiye. Our published portfolio records This is HCD in Ireland: a platform combining editorial content and member features, built with Next.js, Sanity and Supabase.

For a similar product, the useful first question is who owns each type of data. Content editors, members and background processing need different workflows. The published case is an engineering example, not a legal compliance assessment or evidence of an office in Ireland.

Which content belongs to editors and which belongs to members?

The This is HCD case separates curated episodes, courses and editorial posts in Sanity from accounts, progress, comments and directory profiles in Supabase. Audio assembly runs in a separate worker. For a new community platform, describe those owners and workflows before drawing screens, so publishing and member activity do not compete for the same content model.

How should public content and interactive screens be rendered?

Next.js App Router uses Server Components for layouts and pages by default, while Client Components provide interactivity and browser APIs. A project should decide that boundary per workflow: a public episode page and a member control have different needs. Rendering choices still require testing; choosing Next.js alone does not establish speed or search visibility.

What changes if the publishing team adds another language?

Sanity documents both field-level and document-level localization, including different publishing workflows. Decide whether translations need independent publication and which fields remain shared. That is a content ownership decision; an English interface or a translation plugin alone does not define the whole editorial workflow.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

Is This is HCD evidence of an Irish delivery office?

No. It is a published project example. Curiosive's remote engineering work is run from Ankara, Türkiye.

What do you need before estimating a community platform?

An inventory of content, member roles, moderation actions, external integrations and the first usable workflow. Share the existing repository and publishing process if there is one.

Does the stack establish data protection compliance?

No. Hosting, access and retention requirements need to be agreed for the actual deployment with the responsible team. This page describes engineering scope and makes no compliance guarantee.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.

Looking for an engineering partner for the long haul?

A short note about the product, the timeline and who it is for is enough to start. You will hear back from the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team.
