Software Development for Teams in Switzerland, Built from Ankara

Ankara is one hour ahead of Switzerland in summer and two hours ahead in winter. That small gap is the easy part of working with a studio in Türkiye: seven to eight hours of every working day are shared. The harder questions for a team in Switzerland sit elsewhere. Who may see production data under the revised Federal Act on Data Protection, how Swiss VAT treats services bought from abroad, and how much review stands between an AI agent and your main branch.

We are Curiosive, working remotely from Ankara, Türkiye, and we write software with AI coding agents while a senior engineer reviews every change before it lands. A Swiss team can hand us a whole product or bring us in month by month beside its own developers. Nothing about the arrangement locks you in: the repository, database and hosting sit in accounts registered to your company, and every commit is yours.

Working hours between Switzerland and Ankara, winter and summer

Ankara keeps UTC+3 year-round, and Switzerland switches between UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer, so the gap changes twice a year. Winter first: Ankara is two hours ahead, so the 09:00 start of our day is 07:00 for you, our 18:00 close is your 16:00, and when your office opens at 09:00 it is already 11:00 here. Out of a standard 09:00 to 18:00 Swiss day, the seven hours up to 16:00 are shared. In summer Ankara is one hour ahead, our day spans 08:00 until 17:00 by Swiss clocks, your 09:00 equals our 10:00, and eight hours are shared. Anything you send after we finish is picked up when our next day starts, at 07:00 or 08:00 Swiss time. We do not work Swiss evenings, and the weekly call sits comfortably inside the overlap.

Swiss data protection when engineers in Türkiye access your systems

The revised Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) has been in force since 1 September 2023 and is supervised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), which cannot itself impose sanctions. Controllers must report to the FDPIC any data breach that may result in a high risk to the personality or fundamental rights of the people affected. Intentional breaches of the notification, disclosure, reporting and due diligence duties can lead to fines of up to CHF 250,000 for the responsible natural person, while legal persons can be fined up to CHF 50,000, but only as a subsidiary measure. The practical step is to agree in writing, before access starts, which personal data engineers outside Switzerland may see, and to use staging data wherever a task allows it.

EU customer data held in Switzerland and accessed from Türkiye

If your product also serves users in the EU, two facts matter. The EU recognised Switzerland as providing an adequate level of data protection in a decision from 2000 that still applies, and its report of 15 January 2024 found that level adequate under the GDPR as well. Türkiye is in a different position: as of 2 October 2026 it does not appear among the countries covered by a Commission adequacy decision. Where the GDPR governs personal data of people in the EU that a studio in Türkiye can reach, a separate Chapter V safeguard is needed, typically the Standard Contractual Clauses in Decision (EU) 2021/914. Under the EDPB's Guidelines 05/2021, simply viewing such data on screen during support or troubleshooting from a third country counts as a transfer once the transfer criteria are met.

Swiss VAT and contracting for development bought from abroad

Swiss customers who buy data-processing services, or the transfer and granting of intangible rights, from a foreign company owe Swiss VAT themselves through the acquisition tax (Bezugsteuer). A VAT-registered company declares it. A company that is not registered becomes liable once it buys more than CHF 10,000 of such services in a calendar year. A contract with us therefore crosses a border, and what we deliver each month is set out in writing once a discovery call has clarified the work. We have one offer, AI-accelerated development starting from $2,000 per month and priced in US dollars, and it covers both building a product and ongoing releases, fixes and roadmap work. Ask your accountant how the acquisition tax applies to that contract.

How agent-written code is reviewed before it reaches your repository

For a Swiss client the review gate is also where every decision about personal data gets a second reader. Each task starts as a written brief: what done looks like, and which files, tables and secrets the agent may not touch. Claude Code or Cursor then does the work in the repository, reading what is already there, writing the change and its tests, and running types, lint and the full test suite before offering a diff. A senior engineer reads that diff line by line, CI repeats every check, and only a person can merge. Schema design, sign-in, permissions, payments and personal data handling never leave engineers' hands. Past work at scale includes rebuilding Zing Coach (zing.coach) from Webflow to Next.js for more than a million users, and keeping the Detailed SEO Extension running for 600,000 SEOs through its sale to Ahrefs.

Questions

The things people ask before starting.

Can a software company in Türkiye work Swiss office hours?

Mostly, yes. The overlap is seven hours in winter, when a Swiss day shares 09:00 until 16:00 with ours, and eight in summer, when it runs until 17:00. We stop when the Ankara day ends, so Swiss evenings are not covered, but the weekly call and everyday questions fit inside the shared window.

What does the FADP mean for outsourcing software development from Switzerland?

It means deciding who can see personal data before any work starts. The revised FADP has applied since 1 September 2023, breaches that may result in a high risk must be reported to the FDPIC, and fines for intentional breaches of certain duties fall mainly on responsible individuals, up to CHF 250,000. Limiting what outside engineers can reach is the simplest control.

How much does outsourcing software development cost for a company in Switzerland?

Pricing begins at $2,000 per month for AI-accelerated development, quoted in US dollars. There is no long contract and nothing that ties you to our tooling, and each month's scope is agreed in writing. If your company buys data-processing services from abroad, the Swiss acquisition tax may come on top, so include it in the budget.

Do AI coding agents write the code without human review?

No. Agents handle the bulk work, for example scaffolding, wide refactors and filling in test coverage, and a senior engineer reads each diff before anything merges. An agent cannot merge on its own. Sign-in, permissions, payments and personal data are designed by engineers from the start, which also keeps FADP-relevant decisions with a person.

How it starts

What happens after you write to us.

  1. 01

    You describe the product

One paragraph on what you are building, roughly when you need it, and who it is for. No brief, no form with fifteen fields.

  2. 02

You get a reply within a day

From the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team. If we are not the right fit we say so, and where possible we point you somewhere better.

  3. 03

    You get a scoped plan

Scope, price and timeline in writing before anything is committed. You decide with the numbers in front of you.

No long contract to begin, no lock-in to our tooling, and the code is yours from the first commit.

Looking for an engineering partner for the long haul?

A short note about the product, the timeline and who it is for is enough to start. You will hear back from the engineer who would do the work, not a sales team.
